Terms of Service

What the Service does

The Service uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to generate suggested titles, descriptions, and keywords for stock video and photo submissions, based on frames extracted from files you provide. You are responsible for reviewing and editing the generated output before using it anywhere, including submitting it to Getty Images, iStock, Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, or any other platform.

Your content

You retain all rights to the media you upload and the metadata generated for you. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to upload and process any media you submit, and that it doesn't violate anyone else's rights or any law.

Ownership of generated metadata

You own the titles, descriptions, and keywords the Service generates for you. Metadata Sherpa claims no ownership of, and no license to, your media or the generated metadata, and to the extent we hold any rights in that output, we assign them to you.

The AI model is Anthropic's Claude, used through Anthropic's commercial API. Under Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service, the customer owns the outputs, Anthropic assigns to the customer any right, title, and interest it has in them, and Anthropic may not train its models on this content. Anthropic claims no rights to your media or the generated metadata.

Credits and payment

• Generating metadata costs credits (currently 2 credits per photo, 4 credits per video); pricing may change over time.
• Credits are purchased in one-time packs via Stripe; there is no subscription. Credits purchased on or after October 9, 2026 expire 12 months after the purchase date, and free credits granted at signup on or after that date expire 90 days after signup. Unused expired credits are not refundable. Credits obtained before October 9, 2026 do not expire.
• Credit purchases are generally non-refundable, except where required by law. If a generation fails due to an error on our end, the credit is automatically refunded to your balance.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload content you don't have the rights to use.
• Use the Service for anything illegal, or to generate content that's deceptive, harassing, or infringing.
• Try to circumvent the credit system or interfere with the Service's normal operation.

No guarantee of acceptance

We do not guarantee that generated titles, descriptions, or keywords will be accepted by Getty Images, iStock, Adobe Stock, Shutterstock, or any other platform, or that they'll be accurate, complete, or error-free. You're responsible for reviewing all output before use.

Agency rules and independence

Each stock agency sets its own rules for contributors, including model and property releases, logos and trademarks, and AI-generated content. You're responsible for following the rules of every agency you submit to. Metadata Sherpa is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with, reviewed, or endorsed by Getty Images, iStock, Adobe Stock, or Shutterstock; their names belong to their respective owners.

Service "as is"

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose.

Third-party services

The Service relies on Anthropic, Stripe, Supabase, and Vercel to operate. Your use of the Service is also subject to those providers' own terms where applicable (for example, Stripe's terms govern your payment).

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for anyone who violates these terms.

Changes to these terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
