Four steps from a Getty ESP batch to submission-ready metadata.

  1. Prep your batch in Getty ESP first. Open a batch with your clips or photos already uploaded, and wait until every thumbnail is fully generated (not still processing) before you come back here. This is for video only, since it only affects poster frame generation.
  2. Sign in. Enter your email — you'll get a one-time magic link (and a backup numeric code) by email, no password needed. New accounts start with a few free credits to try the tool before buying more.
  3. (Recommended) Install the free companion extension — instructions here. Available for both Chrome and Safari. With it installed and a Getty ESP tab open in the same browser, every keyword gets checked against Getty's real controlled vocabulary before you ever see it — without it, some keywords may get flagged after import instead.
  4. Generate and export. Drop your files in, fill in any shoot details you want (theme, location, etc.), click "Generate metadata for all," review the results, then click "Export CSV for Getty" and apply it to your batch in ESP the normal way.

Note: Chrome can't preview ProRes-encoded video files. If your clips are ProRes, use Safari instead — everything else (JPG/PNG stills, H.264/MP4 video) works fine in either browser.
